The Senior Renewable & Storage Asset Trader will play a pivotal role in establishing and leading our trading operations in the Bulgarian Electricity Wholesale Market. Acting as the key contact between our Greece-based headquarters and Bulgarian stakeholders, this role combines daily hands-on trading responsibilities with strategic market setup. The successful candidate will leverage technical expertise and valuation skills to optimize asset performance, own compliance and adaptability with regulatory changes according to the Bulgarian frameworks, design processes for efficient market participation, and position the company as a leader in the Bulgarian renewable and storage trading space. The candidate also participates in trading activities in other regional markets the desk is active in (e.g., Italy, Romania, etc.).

Your role will encompass:

• Lead the successful entry and establishment of trading operations for Renewable and Storage Assets (both owned and third-party) in the Bulgarian Electricity Market.
• Act as the company’s primary representative and liaison with all key stakeholders in the Bulgarian Electricity Wholesale Market.
• Lead department’s monitoring and compliance with the Bulgarian regulatory framework.
• Participate in the weekend/holiday operational duties of the Renewable & Storage Asset Optimization department on a rotating basis, ensuring seamless continuity of trading activities.
• Represent the company in the Bulgarian Electricity Market through active participation in conferences, public consultations, and industry seminars.
• Participates in the development of analytic tools to assist the daily operations of the department.
• Prepares and delivers tactical and ad-hoc reports for the upper management.
• Participation in the weekend and holiday operation duties of the Renewable & Storage Asset Optimization department on a rotating base
• Monitors and evaluates the performance of the department in the Bulgarian Electricity Market using data analytics and develops strategies to enhance the department’s profitability.
• Communicates asset performance updates and challenges to management and relevant counterparties.
• Optimal & timely market representation across all eligible markets.
• Full compliance and prompt adaptability of the department’s operations in the Bulgarian power market based on the changes of the regulatory framework.

What you bring to the role:

• Proven experience of at least 3-5 years in the power market industry (energy portfolio management/asset optimization/trading departments).
• Strong experience with close to real-time power markets (intraday, balancing) will be considered a plus.
• Acting as a leader in a small trading team
• Skills and experience in optimization algorithms and data analytics.
• Knowledge of at least one of the following: VBA, Python, Matlab, GAMS
• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or relevant field.
• Postgraduate studies in AI/Machine Learning/Data Science field will be considered a plus
