We are currently looking for a Project Director to join our M-Renewables team, in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Your role will encompass:
- Provide overall leadership, direction, and decision-making for the PV park construction project
- Define project objectives, timelines, milestones, and performance indicators aligned with company strategy
- Establish governance structures for project execution, reporting, and control
- Oversee detailed engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) activities
- Manage the EPC contractor, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure contractual, technical, and safety compliance
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations; implement corrective actions when needed
- Ensure seamless integration of civil, mechanical, electrical, and grid connection works
- Manage overall project budget and cost control, ensuring financial performance meets business case targets
- Review and approve major contracts, purchase orders, and change orders
- Monitor cash flow, cost forecasts, and claims management with contractors
- Promote a strong Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) culture across the project
- Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations and safety standards
- Oversee quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes during all project stages
- Drive continuous improvement and zero-incident performance on site
- Liaise with government agencies, local authorities, utilities, and regulatory bodies for permits, inspections, and approvals
- Manage relationships with investors, landowners, community representatives, and grid operators
- Ensure transparent communication and reporting to all project stakeholders
- Lead a multidisciplinary project team, providing mentorship, motivation, and performance management
- Foster collaboration across engineering, procurement, construction, finance, and legal teams
- Ensure effective communication, alignment, and coordination among internal and external stakeholders
- Oversee project testing, commissioning, and performance verification in coordination with technical teams
- Ensure all systems meet design specifications and grid requirements
- Lead final handover to operations and maintenance (O&M) teams with full documentation and training
What you bring to the role:
- University Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical/Civil Engineering
- 10+ years experience in Project Management and 3 years experience in similar position
- Demonstrable experience in managing more than one energy related projects in parallel
- MSc or MBA will be considered an asset
- Excellent use of English Language
- Excellent use of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Advanced use of Microsoft Project/Primavera
