We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Manager to join our M Renewables team in Calgary, Alberta. This exciting opportunity will involve developing Project Quality Plans and Quality Control Procedures, Conducting Audits and Inspections, and Issuing Audit Reports.
This Role will Encompass
- Develop and implement quality control plans, procedures, and standards for solar PV, HV, and BESS projects.
- Conduct inspections of materials, components, and installations to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
- Monitor and review solar panel and equipment installation processes to ensure they meet quality standards
- Document inspection results, identifying defects, and tracking corrective actions.
- Overseeing verification of the integrity of electrical and mechanical components like inverters, transformers, cables, and racking systems.
- Ensure compliance with testing procedures.
- Oversee field inspections, including visual and electrical inspections, insulation testing, grounding verification, etc.
- Identify and document non-conformances (e.g., defective solar panels, improper installation).
- Raise NCRs for any deviations from quality standards and follow up on corrective actions.
- Work closely with contractors and EPCs to resolve quality issues on-site with teams
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction (EPC), and project management teams.
- Provide technical advice and quality-related support during the design, procurement, and construction phases.
- Conduct quality meetings with subcontractors to review progress, discuss issues, and implement corrective measures
- Maintain accurate quality assurance logs, reports, and documentation.
- Prepare and present quality reports, including inspection logs, test results, and NCR reports, for management and clients.
- Review and approve material submittals and test results provided by suppliers and subcontractors.
- Ensure all solar PV systems comply with national and international standards (e.g., IEC,CSA,UL).
- Conduct audits to verify compliance with industry codes and regulations
What you Bring to the Role:
- Minimum of three years of prior experience in the solar industry
- Strong knowledge of Solar PV Technology, Electrical Systems and Quality Standards
- Ability to convey quality expectations clearly to subcontractors, EPC and clients
- Efficiently resolve quality-related issues and non-conformances on-site
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, tests and corrective actions
- Ability to write, implement, and revise Quality Management Plan
