About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an O&M Site Technician to join our team in Moura, Queensland.
Location: Site based role - Moura, QLD (accommodation provided)
Contract Type: Full time, maximum term (12 months)
Reporting to the O&M Supervisor, you will be a valuable member of the team responsible for the day to day operations maintenance of Metlen’s Solar Farm sites to achieve safe, efficient and optimised plant operations.
As an O&M Site Technician, your key responsibilities will include:
- Repair, install, replace, and service on site systems and equipment.
- Secure availability of inverters on site, including response times.
- Prepare daily reports and schedule for all electrical works undertaken.
- Terminate AC/DC cables using crimping tools, connectors, lugs (when needed).
- Carry out and oversee scheduled preventive or non-scheduled corrective maintenance activities including HV/MV and LV electrical side of grand scale solar projects.
- Provides daily feedback to the broader O&M team, including O&M Site Supervisor and O&M Project Manager.
- Ensures compliance of the activities with local rules and regulations.
- Performed DC, AC, LV, MV testing and maintenance. Including but not limited to polarity, open circuit voltage, grounding continuity, insulation, resistance testing etc. and all the follow up corrective activities
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Extensive experience as a qualified electrician
- PV field experience with maintenance and troubleshooting of large-scale solar projects (preferred, but not essential)
- HVLV certification (preferred, but not essential)
- Working knowledge of the Australian Electrical Code
- The ability to work in a team
- A proactive approach to managing workload
- Problem solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication skills
- A current Vehicle Driver’s License (mandatory)
- A current white card for the construction industry (mandatory)
