We are currently looking for a Mechanical Design Coordinator to join our Engineering team in Athens offices.
Your role will encompass:
- Monitor Project Engineering Progress & Coordinate Design activities.
- Identify critical engineering issues that can potentially lead to delays.
- Liaise with Architect Engineer, Discipline Coordinators and Project Management Team
- Contracts management of Mechanical Engineering Sub-Contractors
- Project Engineering budget monitoring
- Participate in the handover process of the technical part of the new Contract from Sales Dpt. to Engineering Dpt.
- Prepare the definition of the DOW for Engineering Activities with Architect Engineers and lead the RFQ process for Architect Engineering Services
- Lead the technical negotiations with Candidate Architect Engineers prior to establishing a Contract for Architect Engineering Services
- Monitoring and Overall responsibility for the timely and accurate preparation of all designs for the assigned Project
- Point of Contact between Engineering and the Architect Engineer for all aspects of the Design activities (as per the established DOW)
- Contribution in the preparation of Mechanical RfQs for the procurement of equipment as needed.
- Interface with Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Departments heads (or heads of Coordination within these Departments) for problems resolution, expediting and day-to-day activities.
- Interface with Project Managers/Project Directors for setting out / revising of priorities and Engineering Progress reporting
What you bring to the role:
- University Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years of relevant experience (preferably in the energy sector)
- Broad knowledge and experience in the energy sector, and in design, erection, and commissioning domains.
- Sound technical knowledge of Power Plants
- Excellent skills in managerial abilities, leadership, and decision making.
- Excellent skills in critical thinking; problem solving approach.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and organize large scale projects.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong software usage and implementation skills.
- Previous Site/Commissioning experience would an asset.
- Excellent knowledge of English language.
