METKA ΑΤΕ, as a subsidiary of METLEN, has long-term experience in the infrastructure sector, holding a seventh class contractor’s certificate and now specializes in construction activities, undertaking infrastructure projects such as road construction, certified buildings, railway, marine projects, etc., as well as solid and liquid waste management projects.
We are currently looking for a QA/QC Engineer to join the new projects of our Subsidiary company ELEMKA in Athens. ELEMKA's activities extend to the management of civil engineering projects in the energy sector, infrastructure, and buildings as well as the provision of inspection and maintenance services on structures and special constructions.
Your role will encompass:
- Develops and implements project-specific quality control.
- Inspects and evaluates the work area in accordance with plans, specifications, and contract documents, reporting deficiencies as appropriate and elevating issues as needed to ensure safe work practices and quality.
- Develops, gathers, maintains, and/or submits work plans, submittals, reports, etc.
- Ensures that subcontractors are aware of all project quality control.
- Plans for and conducts a three-phase inspection program to include: Preparatory Meetings and Reports; Initial Phase Inspections and Reports; Follow-up Inspections and Reports; and Final Phase Inspections and
- Leads and documents quality control meetings with the project team and/or customers; and provides written minutes.
- Provides daily quality control reports to achieve desired quality outcomes in a timely manner by reinforcing activities that are being constructed in conformance with project-specific standards; and constructively confront non-conformance.
- Verifies and documents that all materials/equipment received for the project are in conformance with the approved submittal, are handled and stored appropriately, and are acceptable for use in the project, check for damaged and defective materials and address.
- Schedules, coordinates, and documents all required code and independent inspections. Clearly document, correct, and re-inspect all non-conformances prior to covering up work.
- Reviews the as-built drawings to ensure that they are current, and that deviations from the contract drawings are.
- Stops work; rejects materials and/or equipment; and directs the removal and replacement of any work not in compliance with contract documents, applicable codes, building standards, and/or established principles of construction engineering, or activities which present life-threatening conditions or damage to the site.
- Communicates and interacts as a team member with all trades, manufacturers, suppliers, construction staff and customer representatives.
What you bring to the role:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent qualifications.
- Minimum 2 to 4 years of experience in the quality Sector. Experience in Construction industry is a plus.
- Preferably Managers specializing in Quality Control/Assurance or equivalent.
- Current Construction Quality Control Management certifications.
- Good knowledge and hands-on experience in External & Internal Quality Audit Program.
- Sound knowledge and experience in ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System and ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems.
- Awareness of environmental regulations and compliance standards.
- Demonstrated commitment to environmental sustainability in engineering issues.
- Familiar with LEED certification standards and environmental compliance.
- Excellence quality tools and methodologies.
- Strong analytical and technical troubleshooting skills
- Team player with the ability to work independently.
- Good communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to identify and intervene in problem areas, well-developed problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interface seamlessly with engineering, construction, and operations contractors.
- Fluency in English (verbal and written) is necessary
