We are currently looking for a Electrical Design Coodinator to join our team as part of the Grid & Digital Solutions department of the M Power Projects division, for the construction of the EGL1, a collaborative effort between National Grid Electricity Transmission and SP Transmission, aiming to transmit renewable energy from Scotland to England.
These stations, responsible for converting direct current to alternating current, play a crucial role in the efficient and reliable transmission of 2GW of green energy through a 190km subsea HVDC cable, powering over two million homes in the UK.
Your role will encompass:
- Coordinate design interfaces between Metlen, GE, and design partners through concept and detailed design packages.
- Ensure engineering assurance is undertaken in accordance with the EMP and client requirements.
- Identification and control of engineering design change.
- Undertake design reviews of vendor deliverables to check for compliance with requirements, constructability, safety, and temporary works requirements.
- Provide technical expertise within their discipline and inspire project teams to perform, innovate, and deliver sustainable design solutions.
What you bring to the role:
- BSc in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 yrs experience in a similar position.
- Experience of delivering National Grid and/or Scottish Power Networks projects.
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Job-related technical knowledge necessary to complete the project.
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and efficient manner.
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable county, province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
