Metlen Energy and Metals is seeking a Project Engineer to support our M Renewables Division in Dublin. This position will report to the Construction Manager. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in solar power plant construction, excellent technical and organisational skills, and a strong commitment to quality, safety, and performance.
Your Role Will Encompass:

Supervise and monitor all on-site construction activities to ensure compliance with project design criteria and company standards.

Review and interpret engineering designs and construction drawings, cross-checking for potential errors or inconsistencies.

Support subcontractors during installation activities and ensure compliance with project specifications and quality requirements.

Report daily to the Construction or Project Manager on construction progress, materials received, and on-site issues.

Track and manage construction materials, monitoring usage and stock levels.

Communicate design changes and updates to subcontractors and ensure they are correctly implemented on site.

Implement and oversee the project’s Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) programmes.

Conduct quality inspections and report any deviations or breaches, providing evidence and recommendations for corrective action.

Evaluate construction methods and provide feedback on cost-effectiveness and efficiency improvements.

Investigate and report site incidents, damages, or delays to ensure compliance with safety and procedural standards.

Support implementation of company QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) procedures and promote a strong safety culture.

Liaise closely with other project engineers, HSE managers, and QA teams to ensure alignment and smooth project execution.
What You Bring to the Role:

University or Technical Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in solar power plant construction.

Strong technical competence and ability to interpret detailed engineering designs.

Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.
