Job Title: Development Manager – Data Centers
Location: Tokyo, Japan
As part of our continued global expansion, M Renewables is launching a new Data Center development division in Japan. We are seeking a Development Manager to lead our efforts in establishing, planning, and executing next-generation energy-efficient data center projects across the country.
This is a pioneering role offering the opportunity to build a market presence from the ground up, working alongside global experts and local stakeholders to deliver infrastructure that supports Japan’s digital transformation and sustainability goals.
Your role will encompass:
•    Collaborate with the Head of Development – APAC to develop and execute our Data Center strategy for Japan.
•    Identify and secure strategic sites, coordinating with landowners, utilities, and government entities.
•    Manage the permitting, power, and environmental approval processes in line with Japanese regulations.
•    Liaise with power developers to secure renewable energy supply and ensure sustainable operations.
•    Conduct feasibility studies and lead due diligence on potential development sites.
•    Work with internal teams (Engineering, Construction, Legal, Finance) to prepare projects for investment and construction.
•    Build relationships with hyperscale and enterprise customers, potential joint venture partners, and regional stakeholders.
What you bring to the role:
•    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields.
•    5–10 years’ experience in data center development, industrial real estate, or large-scale infrastructure.
•    Familiarity with Japan’s power infrastructure, zoning laws, and permitting 
•    Strategic thinker with strong technical and commercial acumen.
•    Experience managing consultants, contractors, and multiple parallel projects.
