As an Environmental Assistant, you'll work closely with the Environmental Manager and advisors to help improve the project’s environmental performance at our Hawthorn Pit site.

Your role will include supporting the environmental team, working with various construction teams and project stakeholders, auditing and measuring environmental efforts, helping with reports, sharing best practice, and co-ordinating environmental activities on the project.

Responsibilities:

- Assist with day-to-day environmental compliance on a large construction site

- Delivery environmental toolbox talks / briefings

- Support the Environmental Manager regarding regulator queries and requests

- Support Environmental Manager with permitting and consent requirements

- Keep the construction environmental management plan up to date as the project evolves

- Carry out weekly environmental audits

- Assist with Water, Waste and Air quality monitoring

- Assist with BREEAM infrastructure

- Support the delivery of project Key Performance Indicators

What we’re looking for:

This placement is suited to candidates studying an environmental-related degree e.g. Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, etc.

You’ll have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be self-motivated. You’ll also have a driving licence and have your own transport to get to and from site.
