We are seeking a motivated Assistant Accountant to join our Accounting team part of our Finance & MIS Division, based in Athens. This internal opportunity is ideal for those looking to expand their impact and grow within the company while continuing to contribute to our shared success.
Your role will encompass:
- Support annually, semi-annually or monthly close process
- Prepare and monitor accounting entries
- Monitor Key Accounts Receivables/ Payables
- Liaise with business, accounting and other departments for accurate preparation on payment orders
- Support the team in generating daily internal reports
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls
- Maintain high levels of accuracy and efficiency in accounting tasks, meeting tight deadlines when required
What you bring to the role:
- Academic background including a bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other relevant academic major.
- 2+ years of working experience in Accounting department, Finance or Banking environment
- Good knowledge of Accounting and General Chart of Accounts
- Knowledge of general ledger functions and the month-end/ year end close process
- Good knowledge of MS Office (excel, word, PowerPoint) and Outlook applications
- Knowledge of SAP (or other ERP system) will be considered as an asset
- Effectively manage time and prioritize tasks to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Completed military obligations (where applicable)
